The Record Date for the 2008 final dividend is 12 September 2008 and the Payment Date is 9 October 2008.
Sonic Healthcare's Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP) was reactivated on 21 August 2008 for at least the 2008 final dividend, after having been suspended since 2004. The DRP allows shareholders to reinvest their cash dividend in exchange for Sonic ordinary shares. Shares issued under the DRP are allotted at or below (currently a 2.5% discount applies) the market price for Sonic Healthcare shares. The market price is the average of the daily volume weighted average market price per Sonic ordinary share sold (excluding off-market trades) on the Australian Stock Exchange on each of the 10 consecutive trading days commencing on the second trading day after the record date in respect of the relevant dividend (or such other date as the Company determines and announces to the ASX).
